Imphal: Office of the sub-deputy commissioner in Kumbi of Bishnupur district, 230 meters distance from the Kumbi police station, was torched by unknown miscreants on Thursday night, while valley people were in trauma of indicated attack by Kuki terrorists on September 28.
The office is situated in an isolated area on the eastern side of the Kumbi-Sagang road, near a paddy field.
“Locals noticed the fire. With their swift action, the fire was extinguished in time, before Manipur Fire Service reaches the location,” said the police.
Apart from doors and some property no significant damage was made.
A case has been registered and efforts have been initiated to apprehend the culprits, police said.
KUmbi Assembly constituency MLA strongly condemned the incident. “Surrender to the police or Meira Paibi by October 2.”
Before the fire broke out, a torch rally was held at the Kumbi market area in protest against the activities of Kuki narco-terrorists in Manipur.
