Imphal: Kuki-Zo people have protested against the intelligence input of 900 Kuki militants from Myanmar entering Manipur to attack Meitei community, which was revealed by security advisor to Manipur Government Kuldiep Singh and chief minister N. Biren Singh.
A rally was organized at Kangpokpi by the Committee on Tribal Unity (Kuki organization) on Thursday.
A memorandum was submitted to Union Home Minister Amit Shah through Kangpokpi DC.
The demonstrators demanded a Kukiland.
The statement by the security advisor Kuldiep Singh is an attempt to propagate the same ethno-centric narrative led by Biren, the Kuki body said.
It demanded an expedited Suspension of Operation negotiation with the Kuki-Zo insurgent groups.
In the meantime, Kuki-Zo leader Lamtinthang Haokip uploaded a leaked intelligence report on his X account. The intelligence input, issued by the Tengnoupal district police on September 25, requested the commanding officer of the 5th Assam Rifles in Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh to take necessary action. It mentioned that KNA cadres would be escorting arms, ammunition, and drugs from Myanmar through the Haolenphai and T. Minou areas (villages near Moreh).
