Imphal: Personnel Assistant to PHED minister L. Susindro was kidnapped by unknown miscreants on Friday morning at Lamlong of Khurai Assembly Constituency, in Imphal East.
Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh said a rescue mission was underway. He declined to provide further information to reporters as the rescue mission was still in progress.
On Thursday evening, unknown armed miscreants fired several rounds at the residence of former chief secretary Oinam Nabakishore of Ningthoukhong, Bishnupur district. No casualties were reported.
Police recovered around five empty cases, suspected to be of 9mm ammunition.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility responsibility so far.
A case has been registered at the Bishnupur police station.
