Imphal: President of Shiv Sena’s Manipur Unit, M. Tombi, through a memorandum passing its leader Rahul Shewale, demanded the Union Home minister Amit Shah demanded to remove 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs from the Manipur Government, on Saturday.
Tombi said the memorandum included several demands including removal of Manipur Government’s security adviser Kuldiep Singh and Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh.
He explained that both officials were appointed by the central government to control the Manipur violence, but the situation has continued to escalate.
He said since May 3 last year, Kuki militants have been attacking Meitei villages and from September 1 the attack had been escalating by using sophisticated weapons including drone bombing and long-range rockets.
The memorandum also demanded that the 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs, who have been calling for a “Separate Administration,” be withdrawn from the Manipur Government, as their demand threatens the disintegration of the state.
Tombi urged for adequate deployment of security forces along the two main national highways in Manipur.
