Imphal, 2 Sep 2024: Kuki Narco-Terrorists snatched three automatic rifles attacking the 8th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) bunker with drone bombings, mortar shelling and gunfire at Meikhan, near Sinam Kom in Imphal East district of Manipur on Monday morning.
The incident occurred after Kuki militants attacked Koutruk village in Imphal West, a Meitei-inhabited with drone bombings, that one woman and a villager, and injured 16 others, on Sunday.
According to police, the attack on the 8th IRB bunker began at around 4:10 am. Due to the sudden attack, the IRB jawans evacuated the bunkers and took positions at a nearby location.
The Kuki terrorists overpowered the bunker and took one AK-47, one INSAS, and one INSAS LMG.
The commandos from Imphal East and central forces rushed at the cite as reinforcement team and reoccupied the bunker.
There was no report of casualties in the incident.
A search operation was conducted in the surrounding areas.
