Imphal, 2 Sep 2024: INDIA Block, Manipur unit, has point finger to Government of India of favoring Kuki Narco-Terrorists which is trying to occupy Manipur and establish a territory in the state.
The charge was made following the killing of two persons including a young mother and injuring several others by Kuki aggressors during a heavy attack with drone bombs at Koutruk village in Imphal West district on Sunday.
The Kuki narco-terrorists suddenly attacked Koutruk village with drone bombs and burnt down many houses in the village, L. Sotinkumar of CPI said representing INDIA Block here at a press conference, on Monday.
“It is clear that the Government of India is in favor of the Kuki Narco-Terrorists.” “Why the central forces deployed in abundant did not retaliate to defend the village from the attack with bombs that brought human casualties? This indicates that the Centre has not taken up measures with strong instructions to protect people from Narco-Terrorists. This crisis will not end in such a situation,” Sotinkumar said.
Today (Monday) the attack with drone bombs was carried out at Sinam, in Imphal East, he added.
The INDIA Block had submitted a memorandum to the governor of Manipur on Monday. The governor was out station. It hoped that the governor would soon come to Manipur to redress the situation, he said.
“The residential office of the governor and the chief minister is risky as the terrorists started using drone bombs. What will happen to the civilians?”
Youth have taken up arms as village defenders, for which the government of India is responsible. To counter the terrorists attack the youths in Manipur valley have to look for arms. India government does not allow central and state forces to protect the people, he added.
“Over 60 thousand soldiers were sent to Manipur in the crisis. But it appeared to protect the terrorists.”
The central and central government can easily end the crisis if determined. Why the Prime Minister does not move for ceasefire and peace talks even when Manipur is attacked with aerial bombs. The situation is in grave danger. A solution could have brought if efforted earlier, Sotinkumar said.
Biren had ensured to retain peace in six months. Cannot believe that the government even has plans to make the over 65 thousand people to return at their homes. Staying at relief camp for more than a year and three months is extremely painful and dangerous as people have died and women gave child birth at the camps.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Biren Singh are responsible for the present turmoil in the state,” Sotinkumar said.
“Why the BJP legislators or the cabinet cannot demand the Centre to return Unified Command authority to the state? Biren surrendered the Unified Command to the Centre when it is needed the most to protect people. Biren is a Toothless Tiger.”
Biren cannot do anything. It’s the time for the people to save Manipur. INDIA Block is also making a headway for a solution, Sotinkumar said.
It is suspicious that the Government of India may fulfill the demand of Seperate Administration of the Kuki-Zo. INDIA Block will face any force attempting to disintegrate Manipur territory, he added.
