Imphal: First Journalist Shooting Competition held at Manipur Rifle Association shooting range, Taothong, Lamshang, Imphal West on Sunday.
The competition was organised by All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) in association with Manipur Rifle Association (MRA). It was organised in relation with the year-long Golden Jubilee Celebration of AMWJU.
The competition was participated by 33 journalist including six women journalist from different media firms in two different categories which are 25 metre pistol and 50 metre rifle open sight prone position. The competitors compete each other with .22 bullets.
In the inauguration programme, MLA Thangjam Arunkumar; president of AMWJU, Bijoy Kakchingtabam; president of Manipur Rifle Association, Moirangthem Rachandra Singh and superintendent of police, Imphal West, Ksh. Shivakanta were attended.
In the closing ceremony, held on the same day, MLA Kh. Joykisan; Bijoy and social activist, Shanjoy Ahanthem who is also international awardee and chairman of Bhanubi Memorial Trust were present.
In .22 Rifle open sight prone position, Sh. Goutam Sharma of Poknafam; L Kamaljit of Sanaleibak and Onel Sambanduram of TOM TV took the first three positions respectively.
While in .22 pistol open sight, Onel Sambanduram of TOM TV took the first position, Y. Oken Luwang of Image TV, Jessia Oinam of SK TV both took the second position and W. Robinson of Sanaleibak took the third position.
The winners were awarded cash award with certificates and all the participants were also awarded certificates.
