Security forces recovers weapons in Manipur

Imphal: Security forces have recovered arms and ammunition and bombs at Kakching and Bishnupur districts of Manipur on Friday.

Based on specific intelligence inputs, of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Mahoutera of Kakching district, Assam Rifles, Indian Army, Manipur Police and BSF conducted joint search operations and recovered one Insas rifle, one country-made 9mm pistol, five grenades, ammunition and war like stores. The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, the Assam Rifles said.

It said acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area in Wainem – Keinou Maning and Ayokpa Khun of Bishnupur district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched an operation and recovered one AK assault rifle, one 303 Bolt action rifle, one 9mm listol one point 32mm pistol, one 12 bore single barrel gun, 12 grenades, ammunition and war like stores. The recovered items have been handed over to the Manipur Police.
