Imphal: Manipur State AIDS Control Society, Red Ribbon Club and NSS Units of N.G. College, Lamphelpat, Imphal observed the International Youth Day 2024 on Monday at the Jubilee Hall of the college.
Naorem Sumorjit Singh, joint director, Finance, Manipur State AIDS Control Society; Ashok Roy Choudhury, Principal, N.G. College, Lamphelpat, Imphal; and Dr. Beema Howdijam, deputy director, Manipur State AIDS Control Society graced the function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
A state level extempore speech competition for the college students was also organised as part of the observance.
Langamba Yumnam of DM College of Arts, Moirangthem Diviyarani of NERIM Law College, Hijam Pritam of DM College of Arts and Ningthoukhongjam Supriya of Shree Shree Gourogbind Girls’ College won 1st, 2nd, 3rd and consolation prize respectively.
A cash prize of Rs 15,000, Rs 12,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 along with certificate and mementos were given to the winners. A total of 53 students from different colleges took part in the competition.
