Security forces recover arms, ammunition, bombs in Manipur’s Thoubal

Imphal: Security forces recovered arms and ammunition at Waithou Ridge area of Thoubal district in Manipur on Saturday.

Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area of Waithou Ridge, Thoubal district of Manipur, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a search operation, the Assam Rifles said.

The security team recovered one MA Mk ll AK 47 modified rifle, one Single Barrel rifle, two 9mm pistol, 10 grenades, ammunition and war like stores, it added.

The recovered items have been handed over to the Manipur Police, it said.
