IRB personnel found dead at Thoubal DC office

Imphal: One IRB personnel stationed at the SDO building within the Thoubal DC office campus, was found dead on Wednesday morning.

Question has been aised about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Zafar Ali, son of late Yusuf Ali, resident of Sangaiyumpham Part I, Nungfou Bazar Mamang Leikai. He served in the 3rd IRB as rifleman bearing number 1194528 was reportedly on duty guarding the strong room between 8 am to 10 am.

Zafar Ali’s colleagues from the IRB were engaged in parade rehearsals nearby when they heard a gunshot.

It was assumed that the rifleman has taken his own life using his service weapon.

However, the circumstances leading to incident remained unclear. Authorities waited for the forensic team to conduct a thorough investigation.
