Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Thursday expressed his hope to meet Prime Minister Narendra during Modi Niti Aayog and Chief Ministers’ Conclave in the national capital Delhi.
Biren left Imphal to take part in the NITI Aayog and Chief Ministers’ Conclave. Prime Minister Modi will chair in both the meetings.
NITI Aayog was scheduled to be held on July 27. It will be followed by the chief minister’s conclave.
This will be the first meeting of Manipur chief minister with the Prime Minister in the over 14 months long Meitei Kuki violence that has claimed more that 200 lives and displaced about 60, 000 people.
People of Manipur has been demanding the chief minister to meet the Prime Minister to restore peace in Manipur by setting the issue.
“Time has come. I am going and meeting him. I will take his blessing,” Biren told reporters on the sidelines of a benefits distribution programme held at his secretariate, here, before he left Imphal.
Biren said he will take the privilege of meeting the Primm Minister during the conclave.
“I will take the advantage of addressing about the prevailing situation of the state. I will request for an immediate solution of the present crisis.”
Biren said he was optimistic and hoped that something positive would appear.
