Imphal: An abandoned house was bursted by ‘suspected Kuki’ militants in Jiribam district by exploding an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred despite Union Home minister Amit Shah’s instruction to take strict action against the perpetrators of violence during the recent high-level security meeting conducted in Delhi.

The damaged house belonged to Tongbram Subash Singh, 65, Goakhal village. He is presently staying at Game village zone lV Lairembi Leikai, Imphal West.

Goakhal village is inhabited by Bishnupriya and neibouring Hmar village Tuisen in the direction of 3.5km north east from Borobekra Police station and 500 metres east from main Jiri-Tamei road.

The house was damaged by some unknown miscreants suspected to be armed Kuki militants. No casuality was found, said a police report.

The incident occurred at around 3:10 am.

Subash had left his Jiribam residence after June 6 violence.
