Imphal: A team of Kakching unit commando and 37 Assam Rifles arrested three cadres of KCP (Noyon) from Langmeidong Awang Leikai in Kakching district on Tuesday evening.
The arrested persons was identified as Laikhuram Sanatomba Singh alias Mani, 24, son of L. Jiten Singh of Soibam Leikai, presently staying at Pallel Maning Leikai; Heikrujam Dinesh Singh, 21, son of the late H. Janeshwor Singh of Charangpat Nepra Company, Thoubal; and Tongbram Nganthoiba Singh, 21, son of the late T. Shanta Singh of Moirang Chingkha.
They admitted the police that they were tasked with serving extortion demands to government employees and businessmen in the Thoubal and Kakching areas for the outfit.
They confessed that they had joined the banned organization under the command of K. Roney Meitei, holding the rank of self-styled Commander of the said banned organization, police said.
Three mobile phones, two letterheads in the name of KCP Noyon (signed by the deputy finance of the outfit) and one Hyundai i20 Asta bearing registration number DL3CBM-4610 were seized from their possession.
