Imphal: Saina Institute of Medical Science (SIMS) on Sunday announced that students who are orphans and internally displaced students (IDS) will be provided free of cost while getting different courses in the institution.
Managing director cum secretary of the institute S. Kumar made the announcement during a press conference held at its institute, Yaralpat, Imphal East.
He said the institution has been providing free ourses for orphan students and students belonging to poor families.
With the passing of class X and XII examinations many students including orphan and internally displaced students are facing issues of not being able to get further studies in medical stream. For those students mainly orphans and IDS will be provided free courses on different streams in the institution if they are interested, he added.
He said threats to educational institutions are reported in media frequently. He urged to those organisations to stop such activities considering that education sector is one of the most important sectors in the society.
He highlighted that students can get the diploma course of GNM, MLT, OT, radiology, anaesthesia and dietician in the institute.
