Imphal: The second edition of “Kha-ge Leibak Yunan” (Southern land Yunan) book written by Hareshwar Goshwami was released on Thursday at the auditorium hall of Jawaharlal Nehru Dance Academy, DM University campus, here.
The programme was organised by Kangla Publication.
Hareshwar Goshwami aka Oja Imo said the book is a travelogue and the book highlights the cultural similarities of Manipur with other South East Asian countries including Myanmar, China and others.
He said the first edition of the book had already been published in 2007 and the book has been included in the syllabus of Manipuri subject at Assam University since last year. He travelled to the Yunan province and wrote the book as a travelogue highlighting the cultural similarities of Manipur with other southeast Asian countries.
As the students are demanding the book, he decided to publish the second edition amid the crisis as education is a must for a student, he added.
He said mainland India is not interested in solving the present issue of Manipur because of the cultural difference with mainland India. He said the second edition of the book is published in two scripts, Bengali and Manipuri.
“To make aware of the cultural similarities of Manipur with other southeast Asian countries the book will be translated in English language in Delhi soon,” the writer said.
