Imphal: Chief minister N. Biren Singh on Tuesday visited Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, here and checked on the conditions of the four state security personnel and one BSF jawan who were injured during attacks by suspected Kuki terrorists at Indo-Myanmar border town, Moreh in Tengnoupal district of Manipur.
The chief minister also spoke with the families of the injured personnel.
Speaking on the sidelines of the visit, he said that it is unfortunate, but fortunately, the personnel were not critically injured.
Pointing at the intensity of attack during which the personnel were injured, the chief minister said, “It has proved that the weapons used by the terrorists were sophisticated weapons. The central forces and state forces are countering them.”
Search operations and combing operations are widely going on, reinforcements have also been sent, he added.
Biren expressed a firm commitment to the people that the government will not succumb to such threats and pressure and will take necessary measures to counter such terrorist activities.
During the visit to the hospital, the chief minister was accompanied by ministers, MLAs and other top officials.
