As per FIR reports, Brinda made remark against the 60 MLAs of Manipur Legislative Assembly that most of them are involved in drug business directly or indirectly and some of them are the investors.
Nine MLAs including two ministers had filed FIRs against Brinda, a retired police officer.
The womenfolk staged a one day sit-in at Yaiskul Janmasthan, Imphal West on Sunday.
Ngangbam Debarani, a protestor, said the MLAs and ministers should register FIR against the 10 MLAs who are demanding for a Separate Administration. On the contrary they filed FIR against a social activist.
The protestors ‘strongly’ condemned registration of FIR against Brinda ‘who is a voice for public’.
The Kukis had been demanding for a Separate Administration during the initial stage of the crisis and now they are demanding for a Union Territory having equal constitutional rights.
Those MLAs should register FIR against those who want to disintegrate the territorial integrity and boundary of Manipur.
Protestors demonstrated with placards embedded “CM, Ministers and MLAs be responsible on crisis”, “Save Manipur”, “withdraw FIR immediately from Brinda”.
