Chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh has determined 15 of every month as ‘Miyamgi Numit’ while he addressed at a reception function of the CM hosted by the women vendors of Khwairamband Keithel in his honour today.
Biren Singh said public would be allowed to meet the chief minister, ministers, commissioners, secretaries, deputy commissioners and SPs to lodge their complaints and air their grievances on the 15th of every month.
A formal official order would be issued soon in this regard said Biren Singh.
He said that ending UNC-sponsored economic blockade, resolving Churachandpur issue and revamping NH-37 were the three tasks which he had decided to do first soon after he was sworn-in as the Chief Minister.
Stating that the first round of talks with Churachandpur JAC ended on a positive note, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the impasse would be resolved within a few days.
Maintaining that repairing works on the Imphal-Jiribam highway had begun gaining pace, Shri N. Biren said that he would personally inspect the condition of the road and work progress soon.
Regarding the problems of vending space, pollution and traffic congestion in Imphal city, the Chief Minister said that the State now has a competent and dynamic MAHUD Minister and all the problems would be sorted out soon by chalking out a long-term plan.
Every hill district headquarters would now have a women’s market each, he said. The Central Government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had already sanctioned funds for the said project, he added.
