Imphal: A 4-day certification programme for the Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) of Chandel, Ukhrul, Senapati, Churachandpur, Tamenglong and Kangpokpi began on Tuesday at the conference hall of chief electoral officer, Manipur, Lamphelpat.
The training programme was inaugurated by the Joint chief electoral officer, Manipur, Ramananda Nongmeikapam.
The training comprises of four sessions to be conducted by resource persons.
Ramananda informed that the certification programme is the first batch being conducted by the state chief electoral officer.
The second batch of training for the AROs of the remaining districts will also be held during November 9-12. Training session for returning officers (ROs) is scheduled to begin on October 26 and last till 29, he said.
On the first day of the training, resource persons Ashwani Malik, NLMT; S. K. Setia, NLMT and Munir Vohra, NLMT conducted the sessions on Nomination, Scrutiny of Nomination, Withdrawal of Candidature and Allotment of Symbol and Postal Ballot.
On the second day, the same resource persons will conduct the training sessions on District Election Management Plan, Vulnerability Mapping, Qualification and Disqualification.
The third and fourth day session will be conducted by resource persons Yogesh Kumar, NLMT and V. Raghavendra, NLMT on Expenditure Monitoring, Polling Party and Poll Day Arrangement, EVM-VVPAT Hands On, and EVM-VVPAT Administrative. The fourth day session will have Model Code of Conduct, Paid News and MCMC, ETBPS and Counting.
The inaugural day of the training was attended by assistant returning officers and staff of CEO Office Manipur and National Level Master Trainers.
