Chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh has ensured commitment in bringing comprehensive development in the state as he visited the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Regional Campus at Makhan Village of Kangpokpi district, today.
He said, “The government is fully committed to bring inclusive development in the state and no there should be no disparity among us.”
Biren interacted with the faculties and students in a programme conducted at the library hall of the tribal university. Saying that education is the future of the society, he said, establishment of such a tribal university in the state is the need of the hour as many students who cannot afford study outside the state can enjoy study within the state. The new government believes in practical approach and its formost mission is to bring equal development in the state.
He made his promise to construct a security barrack and security personnel in the campus after he listened to the faculty members and students of grievances. He also assured the approach road would be blcktopped from Kanglatombi.
Biren Singh asserted that he would pursue the HRD ministry to upgrade the university into a full-fledged university.
In the visit tribal affairs and hills minister N. Kayisii, social welfare and co-operation minister Nemcha Kipgen and the technical education commissioner Vineet Joshi and other high ranking officials were associated with the chief ministers.
