Imphal: Yazaki India Pvt. Ltd has proposed textiles, commerce and industries minister Thongam Biswajit Singh to set up its wire harness manufacturing unit in the state and provide employment to the youth of the state.
The proposal was made through a video conference. The minister welcomed the company’s proposal.
During the conference, Yazaki India Pvt. Ltd managing director Prashanth Nayak proposed setting up its manufacturing unit in Manipur and to provide more than 1500 jobs for the youth of the state with special focus on womenfolk. Prashanth said the company is presently focused on development of domestic business with eight locations and 11 plants set up across the country.
With Manipur the company plans to touch international boundaries by setting up export oriented unit in the state.
Biswajit said he would place the proposal before the state Cabinet.
The proposal to generate employment in the state is very much appreciable and would be an encouragement to our society. Increase in the number of entrepreneurs will minimise the unemployment issue in the state, he added.
He welcomed the company’s commitment to focus more on empowering womenfolk. He said Prime Minister also gives strong thrust on empowerment of women in our country.
The minister highlighted the industrial and investment policy of Manipur and the Single Window Clearance System.
Reiterating the need to place the proposal before the state Cabinet, Biswajit also assured all possible cooperation and support from the government.
