DIC liquor seized

Imphal: Imphal West Police commando seized 420 litre of distilled indigenous country (DIC) liquor contained in 517 bottles on Monday.

Two persons were detained in this connection.

The detainees were identified as Sagolsem Premjit Singh, 25, of Langthabal Mamang Leikai and Sukham Jems Singh, 19, Sagoltongba Awang Leikai.

The liquor bottles were seized from a truck bearing registration number AS01CC-2529 during frisking and checking at Sagoltongba area. On examination 323 bottles DIC liquor packed in 1 litres bottle and 194 bottles of 500ml were detected.

The detainees along with the seizures including the truck were handed over to excise department, Lamphel.
