Imphal: All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) has condemned the bomb attack at its headquarter in Imphal on Tuesday evening by unknown miscreant, terming it as an act of terrorism.
Since its inception in 1965, AMSU has been participating in the fights for rights of the people and its members have even sacrificed their lives in fights for the motherland, AMSU president Haobijam Chalamba Meitei, told reporters here on Wednesday.
He said AMSU has been working with full dedication and sacrifice for the welfare of the public and the union considers the headquarter like a temple.
“Yesterday’s bomb attack at the union headquarter is a challenge against the Manipur society and especially to the student community, ” the student leader said.
The union has its own identity, history and constitution, every steps and works taken up by the union is taken up under its constitution and any issue arise among the union is solved and judged as per the constitution, he said.
“AMSU is not an union who will follow orders of any third party,” the student leader said.
He appealed to the state government to book the culprit(s) involved in the attack at the earliest and take up the necessary actions.
Chalamba asked the individuals or groups responsible for the attack not to repeat similar unwanted act.
