Imphal: Out of 4648 Covid-19 test result 869 were confirmed positive on Monday in Manipur while no air passenger was found positive at Imphal airport.
Fourteen Covid-19 patients expired in 24 hours, Covid-19 common control room said.
“Most of the deaths were due to comorbidity. The government had been putting in all possible efforts to save every single life,” chief minister N. Biren Singh said on Monday.
Testing in the state had considerably increased in the past couple of days to ensure early detection and early treatment. “People should not panic with the possible jump in the number of positive cases,” he added.
The 14 expired Covid-19 patients belonged to Imphal West (7), Imphal East (3), Kakching (2), Bishnupur (1) and Churachandpur (1).
The fresh positive cases were from Imphal East (312), Imphal West (250), Thoubal (56), Bishnupur (61), Kakching (15), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (98), Chandel (8), Senapati (25), Tamenglong (12), Kangpokpi (13), Jiribam (4), CAPF (3) and Kamjong (4).
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.
A total of 546 were recovered in the past 24 hours, it added.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 41,153. The number of active cases is 8,791. The recovery rate is 81.08 percent, the control room said.
So far 382534 persons have been vaccinated.
