Imphal: With the initiatives to reduce the suffering of farmers, Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) bought 10,000 number of lychees and 1,200 kilograms of papayas from the farmers.
MOMA under the department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation and under the instruction of chief minister N. Biren Singh bought the fruits from the farmers who are suffering due to the pandemic.
MOMA procured the lychees and papayas from the farmers of Jiribam and Imphal East district.
The fruits were being sold to the people by MOMA through home delivery system at ‘affordable’ rates in some parts of Imphal East and West districts of Manipur.
Development officer horticulture department, Jiribam, Kh. Lakhon took the initiatives by transporting the lychees at the office of MOMA. Home delivery service for lychees began on Saturday.
The papayas were bought from ‘Liklam’ an integrated farm located at Kangu Chingjin, Imphal East.
