Imphal: Manipur recorded highest single day Covid-19 related death cases of 10 while 397 fresh cases were confirmed in 24 hours (Tuesday 4 pm to Wednesday 4 pm).
In the last 24 hours, 10 persons aged 78 years (male, Kangpokpi), 70 years (male, Imphal East), 72 years (male, Imphal West), 67 years (female, Imphal East), 72 years (male, Imphal West), 60 years (female, Kangpokpi), 48 years (female, Churachandpur), 42 years (female, Imphal West), 75 years (female, Imphal East) and 56 years (male, Imphal West) expired at Shija Hospital (2), Bal Bhavan (3), District Hospital Kangpokpi (1), District Hospital Churachandpur (1), RIMS (2) and JNIMS (1) hospital respectively, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.
The cumulative number of deaths is 434, it added.
Out of the total new cases 187 belonged to Imphal West, 76 to Imphal East, 28 to Kakching, 22 to Ukhrul, 17 to Kangpokpi, 15 to Senapati, 13 to Churachandpur, 12 to Bishnupur, 11 each to Ukhrul and Tamenglong, 10 to Thoubal, two each belonged to Jiribam and Chandel, and 20 belonged to Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
A total of 121 persons were discharged from CAPF (1), home isolation (106), RIMS (6) and SHRI (8).
The cumulative number of positive cases has risen to 33, 353 and active cases to 2657. The recovery rate has moved down to 90.73 percent.
One air passenger was found infected with Coronavirus when tested 19 passengers at Imphal airport. Cumulative number of air passengers tested positive was 99 as on Wednesday.
Te control room has asked air passengers who travelled to the state on May 3 by Air India flight AI-3713 in rows 12-18 to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective district surveillance officers for further surveillance and necessary testing.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 821 D-type oxygen cylinders and 323 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.
