Imphal: Manipur government on Thursday issued an order that people coming to Manipur should possess a negative Covid-19 test report to enter Manipur.
“All persons entering Manipur, whether by air or by road, and irrespective of place of origin, shall be allowed entry only on mandatory production of a negative RT•RCR/ TrueNat/CB-NAAT Covid-19 test report taken within 72 hours from arrival in Manipur,” the order issued by the state health department said.
This order shall become effective from April 18. This preventive measure may be strictly complied by all concerned, it said.
It instructed all Army/CAPF units to arrange for Covid-19 testing of their personnel entering Manipur.
Chief minister N. Biren Singh highlighting the order said, “Be aware and stay safe” on his Facebook post.
He also wrote on his post earlier urging the people to take acre as Covid positive cases are increasing. “This is very worrisome, rate of increase is too fast. All gatherings and non-essential activities should be avoided. Wear mask and step out only for essential activities,” he said.
