Imphal: As the holy month of Ramzan/Ramadan commences, chief minister N. Biren extended his ‘warm’ greetings to the people of Manipur, especially to ‘our Muslim brothers and sisters’.
Fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. It develops perseverance, self-restraint, discipline, social belongingness, unity and brotherhood. For believers of Islam, fasting and praying to Allah during Ramzan/Ramadan purifies one’s mind, body, heart and soul, Biren said.
“I join our Muslim brethren in praying that those who are observing this sacred custom find comfort and reassurance in their Faith. May the Holy Month bring peace, happiness and prosperity to our state,” Biren wished.
