Imphal: Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis IGAR (South) organised Community service to celebrate Easter Sunday at Ngarumphung Church of Imphal East district on Sunday.
The event commenced with community service on Easter Sunday and interaction with the locals at Ngarumphung Church where the soldiers paid their respect as per the customs and traditions of the village.
The event was also utilized to educate the locals about the importance of hygiene, sanitation and various precautions to be taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19 along with distribution of masks and sanitizers. Villagers were informed about the vaccination drive policy adopted by the state government. In addition, various existing government schemes for promotion of local agriculture produce and procedure to avail them were also highlighted.
The villagers expressed their joy and profound gratitude to Assam Rifles for joining them on Easter Sunday and also creating awareness about important issues. The event was conducted with all Covid precautions in place, Assam Rifles said.
