Imphal: A 2-day state level mega convention on National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, will be held on March 11 at City Conevntion Centre, Palace Compound, here.
The decision of organising the convention was taken during the review meeting of the State Task Force on NEP held at the SSA office.
The meeting waschaired by education minister S. Rajen Singh.
During the meeting modalities of the upcoming convention was minutely discussed. There will be technical session including interaction with the resource persons.
The convention will be inaugurated by chief minister N. Biren Singh, ministers, MLAs, representatives of different organisations, teaching faculties, experts, top officials of the education department will also be present.
Rajen said in order to give awareness on the national education policy organising such convention is very necessary. The local leaders and the public seem lacking knowledge about the contents of the NEP, 2020. He maintained that a collective effort of the experts and officials of the concerned department is very necessary for successful implementation of the policy.
The minister appealed all concern to cooperate with the government on such initiatives.
Highlightinb the achievements of the School Fagathanshi Mission, he said there has been immense increase of enrolment of students in government schools during the last few years.
Rajen appealed to the teachers to focus in bringing quality education in the state.
Commissioners and directors of education department, Task Force members, professors and other experts were present during the meeting.
