Imphal: In the last 24 hours, 10 COVID-19 patients expired in Manipur, state COVID-19 common control said on Sunday at 5 pm, pushing the cumulative number of COVID related death to 273.
The control room said 10 persons aged 69 years (male, Ukhrul), 63 years (male, Imphal West), 47 years (male, Imphal West), 30 years (male, Imphal West), 62 years (female, Bishnupur), 44 years (male, Imphal East), 75 years (male, Imphal East), 90 years (male, Kangpokpi), 55 years (male, Imphal West) and 76 years (male, Imphal East) expired at RIMS (3), Shija Hospital (2) and JNIMS Hospital (5) respectively.
In the past 24 hours, 160 persons from general population and one personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases, 8t added.
The positive cases from general population are from Imphal West (69), Imphal East (26), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (10), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (6), Ukhrul (3), Senapati (2), Kangpokpi (4), Churachandpur (21), Pherzawl (1), Jiribam (4) and Noney (6).
“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” the control room said.
The total number of discharged persons was 198. They were from CAPF (2), Home Isolation (119), RIMS (28), JNIMS (5), LKK (12), LANVA (1), UNACCO (6), Sadbhavna (1), RD Wing (9), TK Ukhrul (5), Thoubal (7) and Noney (3).
The cumulative number of positive cases was 24,910 (general population – 21,828 and central security personnel – 3,082). The number of active cases was 3,236 (general population – 2,938 and central security personnel – 298).
The recovery rate was 85.91 percent.
