Imphal: Covid-19 took three more lives in Manipur raising the Covid-19 death toll to 35 as on Friday evening.
Two of them were males of 60 and 39 years of age from Imphal East while the third was a 56 years old female from Thoubal district. The 60 years old male and the females died at Shija hospital and the other at JNIMS.
They died due to Covid-19 and other co-morbid conditions, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 35.
In the past 24 hours, 66 persons from general population and 24 personnel from Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.
The positive cases are from VRDL, JNIMS –- 33; Jiribam 3 ; Shija Hospital – 5; Churachandpur – 7; Bishnupur – 12; Imphal Hospital – 1; Imphal East RAT-
3; Asian Hospital – 1; Thoubal – 6; Ukhrul – 2; Imphal West RD Wing 1; Tengnoupal – 1; Babina Diagnostics 5; Raj Medicity 8; Maipakpi – 2.
They are from Imphal West 10; Imphal East 12; Bishnupur 13; Thoubal – 8; Jiribam – 3; Kakching -2; Tengnoupal – 15; Ukhrul -3. All are locals without
any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and
contact tracing are in place, the control room said.
A total of 125 persons were discharged in the past 24 hours after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test, it added.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 6699 (general lopulation 5046 and central security personnel -1653). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 4899 (general population-3827 and central security personnel -1072). The number of active cases is 1765 (general Population 1186 and central security lersonnel -579). The recovery rate is 73.13 percent.
“Miking is being carried on in Imphal West. The areas are Sanakeithel, Paona Bazar, Masjid Road, Thangal Bazar, Dharmasala, Sagoltongbi, Awang
Khunou, Awang Potsangbam, Khumbong Bazar, Kanglatombi, Sekmai and Awang Leikinthabi,” the control room said.
In collaboration with People’s Task Force and Indian Red Cross Society, Intensive Awareness Campaign on Covid-19 started on September 1in and around Imphal to create awareness among the people.
