Imphal: Manipur education minister Dr Thokchom Radheshyam on Saturday held a meeting with the representatives of the students’ organisations to discuss how the new National Education Policy, 2020 can be effectively implemented in the state.
The meeting was held at the conference hall of Samagra Siksha, Manipur.
The minister appreciated the important roles played by the students’ organisation in improving the education system in the state.
He said the meeting was held to understand the new education policy and analyse in detail for effective implementation of the policy in the school, teacher’s training and higher education section. He hoped that suggestions and views would be shared by the representatives of the students’ organisations in the meeting.
He said the better understanding of the education policy will help in bringing the best education system in the state based on the Indian ethos.
Radheshyam also highlighted some of the major reforms in the National Education Policy, 2020 as such the new 5+3+3+4 school curriculum, teaching of students of upto Grade 5 in mother tongue / regional language and multiple entry / exit to be allowed with appropriate certification in UG education.
He appealed to all the stakeholders to analyse the policy and contribute in implementing the policy with suggestions and opinions.
