Imphal: Manipur governor Najma Heptulla and chief minister N. Biren Singh shower greeting to the people of Manipur on the eve of Krishna Janmastami.
In he greetings Heptulla said ‘Krishna Janmastami’ celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna an incarnation of God on this earth. The faithfuls believe that the Lord undertook His earthly sojourn to teach mankind universal love and ‘Karma’.
“On this day, let us remind ourselves of the teachings of Lord Krishna and propagate love and affection for all and usher in an era of peace and prosperity in Manipur,” Heptulla said.
Biren said as per Hindu calendar this year, the 5247th birth anniversary of Lord Krishna will be celebrated.
“On this auspicious day celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, let us strive to free our minds and deeds of evil and fill them with compassion, sharing and love,” the chief minister greeted.
