Imphal: Manipur witnesses rising in the number of new Covid-19 cases within the community of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) with 165 more test positive on Friday.
According to Manipur Covid-19 common control room, 84 persons including 27 female from general population and 165 personal from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases at (VRDL, RIMS – 56; VRDL, JNIMS – 143; Impha) West RAT-II; DH Jiribam – 21; Babina Diagnostics – 3; DI.1 Tamenglong-1; DH Kakching — 2; DH Ukhrul — 10; DH Kangpokpi — 1; STDC/IRL – 1).
They are from Imphal West – 14; Thoubal – 37; Kakching – 10; Tamenglong – 12; Chandel – 3; Bishnupur — Imphal East – 1; Kangpokpi – 1. 21 out of the general population arc mortices from other states (Tamcnglong-7. Kakching – 8, Bishnupur – 6) and the rest 63 arc locals without any significant trawl history.
They are bcing shifted to the Covid Cara facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.
It said, in the past twenty-four hours, 21 persons were discharged from RIMS (6), Covid care centres of Meitram (I0), Kakching (4) and Kamjong (1) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 3466 (general population – 2765 and central security personnel – 701).
The cumulative number of discharged cases is 1926 (general population – 1834 and central security personnel – 93). The number of active cases is 1530 (general population – 829 and central security personnel – 701).
On Friday, two males of the ages 76 and 28 years from Kangpokpi district and Chandel district respectively expired due to Covid-19. They had co-morbid health conditions. The cumulative number of death is 10, the control room said.
Till date, 694 parsons have been confirmed as locally transmitted non-returne, Covid-19 positive cases. The rata of locally transmitted case among all positives is 20 percent.
In the past few days, the number of locally transmitted cases has increased steadily. To check the spread of Covid-19, everyone should wear face mask whenever going out of home, maintain physical distance and avoid all non-essential travels, it said.
