Police destroy red liquor

Imphal: Imphal West Police destroyed Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL)  and local made liquor from different parts of Imphal on Tuesday.

The police recovered 145 bottles of IMFL and 76 bottles of beer from Polo Ground Maning; 18 bottles and 24 cans of beer, two bottles of IMFL and 20 litres of local made liquor at Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai; and 20 bottles of whiskey and 60 bottles of beer at Thangmeiband Khondram Selungba Leikai.

The recovered liquor and beer were destroyed at the spots.

Chief minister N. Biren Singh on Monday urged Meira Paibi  (women activist) and clubs to identify people who sells liquor in their respective localities and report them to police to apprehend them.
