Imphal: COVID care centre (CCC) established and activated at GNM School of Nursing, Thoubal on July 12 has started to offer care only for COVID-19 confirmed cases that have been clinically assigned as asymptomatic or very mild or mild COVID-19 cases.
This was stated in a statement released by Thoubal deputy commissioner N. Bandana Devi, on Monday.
At present there are 38 COVID-19 confirmed cases at the centre, it said.
Dedicated medical teams are actively monitoring the health status of the inmates round the clock. CCTV camera and public address system for announcement of instruction to the inmates have put in place. To ensure round the clock communication link between the inmates and caregivers, a dedicated contact number has also been provided to all the inmates through which any issues can be informed to the medical team immediately, it said.
In case, symptoms progress from mild to moderate or severe, the patient ill be immediately referred and shifted to RIMS or JNIMS where higher medical facilities are available, it added.
One dedicated Basic Ambulance has been earmarked to ensure safe transport of such cases. All frontline workers and in particular doctors, nurses, police personnels, drivers, caterers etc. have been working selflessly and tirelessly to save the life of the COVID-19 patients round the clock since the inception of CCC at GNM, the deputy commissioner said.
