Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 11, 2020: In view of the outbreak of Covid-19 and prolonged lockdown in the state, the state government has been taking up concerted efforts to distribute PDS items to every household in all the districts of Manipur.
In Kangpokpi district, 1092.70 quintal of AAY rice has been lifted and distributed to the 3122 households while 6146.65 quintals of PHH rice has been lifted and distributed to the 26507 households of the district on Saturday. Another 40 quintals of rice was also made available to 410 household under Open Market Sales Scheme (OMSS).
In respect of Bishnupur district, a total of 10198.75 quintal of rice has been allocated for 6 Assembly Constituencies, viz., Nambol, Oinam, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thanga and Khumbi A/Cs. The allocated rice will be lifted soon. Similarly, for Churachandpur district, a total of 10020.85 quintal of rice has been allocated for which lifting of the same is to be taken up soon. However, a total of 100 quintal of rice has been distributed to the 1043 households of the 3 sub-divisions of Churachandpur District, viz., Tuibong (B Vengnom), Churachandpur (Bungmual and Emmanuel Khopi) and Saikot (Muolvaiphei) under OMSS Scheme in the district.
As regard to Kamjong district, a total of 1.9 quintal of rice has been distributed to 134 households under OMSS on Saturday.
The amount of rice allocated for Thangmeiband, Uripok, Sagolband, Keishamthong, Singjamei, Yaiskul, Patsoi, Konthoujam, Lamshang, Sekmai including portions of Saitu, Wangoi, Naoria Pakhanglaka, Langthabal and Mayang Imphal A/Cs on Saturday were 1600.85, 1419.35, 1431.30, 1459.05, 1259.35, 328.40, 2012.83, 1804.32, 2270.70, 1587.35, 1668.10, 1895.31, 1670.25 and 1888.35 quintals of rice respectively. Out of the allocated quantity, Thangmeiband, Uripok, Patsoi, Lamshang and Mayang Imphal A/Cs have lifted 1600.85, 1419.35, 1472.90, 1940.50 and 1580.10 quintals of rice respectively so far. For Patsoi Part I, 125.10 quintal was lifted and for Patsoi Part III, 131.00 quintal was lifted for the month of April.
Under the OMSS Scheme for Imphal West district, a total of 190.25 quintal of rice was distributed covering 1,953 households/families and under AAY/NFSA, a total of 256.10 quintal of rice was distributed covering 1,281 households/families. (Source: DIPR)
