The candidates of both the BJP and the Congress contesting in Heingang assembly constituency expressed high hopes of winning and look towards serving the people and the land in different ways.
The BJP candidate Nongthombam Biren hoisted his party flag today at his residence with large people’s participation while his rival Congress candidate Naoroibam Ratan Meetei (Kapu) filed for his nomination today.
N. Biren talking to the reporters on the side line said his constituency has above 20,000 voters and expects more than 50% votes in the election and win as there will be three to four candidates. “What I am trying is to give a stable government so that people can enjoy and live peacefully” added Biren.
Ratan said, “Today is a great day in my life time and definitely I will do my best for the country, for the state and for my constituency as well.”
While Biren gave importance on the disturbances to the peaceful living of the people, Ratan focussed on the economic development indices including preservation of environment.
Former minister N. Biren was a Congress MLA while Ratan was a BJP intending candidate.
