Imphal: Manipur Police on Saturday arrested a militant involved in extortion activities from his residence at Haoreibi Awang Leikai under Wangoi police station, Imphal West district
He was identified as Sarungbam Boday Singh 37, of Haoreibi Awang Leikai.
He was an active cadre of PREPAK, police said.
“He was involved in extortion activities by serving monetary demands/threats and collecting money from shops, business establishments, general public etc. in valley area.”
One mobile phone has been recovered from his possession, it added.
