Imphal: Lions Club of Imphal Greater organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the Blood Bank and Transfusion Unit of Jawarharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) on Wednesday.
The camp was organised under the theme “Give Blood, Give Life – A Tribute to Our Patriots”. It was the 36th edition of the voluntary blood donation camp organized by Lions Club of Imphal Greater, Lions Club International District 322D.
It was organised in association with Blood Bank and Transfusion Unit, JNIMS.
Members of Lions Club of Imphal Greater and members of JNIMS Students Association MBBS students of JNIMS and voluntary blood donors of Manipur donated blood.
Dr K. Surjit Singh, chairperson of the project, said Lion Clubs around the world have been organising mass blood donation camp on a regular basis and informed that the club is planning to organize more blood donation camps in the near future.
President of the club, Ashok Lairen emphasized on the importance of blood donation. Secretary of the club, Tarun Thokchom and senior Lion of the club Arun Thongam and other key members of the club also donated blood in the camp.
