Imphal: Three cattle smugglers were apprehended by security forces during routine checking at Khudengthabi PVCP, Tengnoupal district on Wednesday.
They found the three individuals smuggling 13 cattle in a vehicle.
“The cattle smugglers are residents of M. Chahnou Village, under Moreh-PS, Tengnoupal district,” said Manipur Police on Thursday.
They were identified as Hemminlen Haokip, 26, Shuhao Haokip, 59 and Henkholal Lhouvum, 36.
The cattle, estimated approximately Rs 8,45,000, and the four-wheeler bearing registration number MN-07C-3345, which was used for cattle smuggling were seized.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the vehicle registration documents were forged and fake,” police said.
