Imphal: A joint team of Manipur Police and CRPF on Wednesday seized brown sugar from a vehicle at Tupul bridge which connects Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts.
The contraband drug weighing 2.193 kg, packed in 196 soap cases, was found in one 4-wheeler vehicle, which, according to police, was coming from Churachanbur heading towards Kangpokpi.
Two occupants of the vehicle, Ginminlen Haokip, 24, of G. Phaibung, Motbung, Kangpokpi and Holminlen Khongsai, 30, of Khangbarol village, Khangbarol, Chandel were arrested, said police.
Further investigation has been initiated, it added.
