Manipur Printing and Stationary Directorate goes paperless

Imphal: The Directorate of Printing and Stationery, Manipur, has adopted a paperless system for all official communications, document management, and operations of the directorate wherever possible, with immediate effect.

This decision aligns with the e-Governance initiatives taken up by the state government, said a government press release on Friday.

As per the circular issued by Ng. Roben Singh, director of Printing and Stationery, the adoption of a paperless working system will not lead to stoppage of printing of statutory forms, booklets, and other official documents by the directorate. On the contrary, it is aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the communication process between the indenting government offices and the directorate in undertaking mandated printing and publishing tasks.

It said a paperless directorate will be environment friendly and will increase efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and accountability while being cost effective in the delivery of the directorate’s mandated public services to both the general public and other departments, institutions, or offices under the government.

In order to facilitate the functioning of this paperless directorate in public interest, certain operating procedures may be kindly taken up by all concerned while communicating with the directorate.

The directorate appealed all departments, institutions, or offices of the government that have adopted eOffice Manipur to send and receive correspondences to and from the directorate exclusively through the eOffice platform, wherever possible.

For those that have not yet adopted eOffice Manipur, and for the general public, correspondences should be sent to the directorate through their official or personal email accounts to the Directorate’s official email address: dir.govtpress-mn@manipur.gov.in, if possible, it said.

It said all correspondences including receipts or acknowledgements made to the departments, institutions, offices, of the government or to the general public by the directorate shall be made via eOffice Manipur or through official email dir.govtpress-mn@manipur.gov.in , or the official contact number 9402268344 (WhatsApp). There will be no communication on physical paper from the directorate other than in cases where inked signed paper communications are mandated by extant rules or law.

All documents issued by the directorate will bear the digital signature of the competent authority, wherever such signature is required, unless there is a mandatory requirement for an inked signature, it added.

For any further clarification or information, concerned parties may contact the directorate directly, it added.
