Imphal: Security forces arrested four cadres of United Kuki National Army (UKNA) including three juveniles from Bethel, Centre of Churachandpur town in Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
“There were involved in extortion, drug business and smuggling and sale of weapons,” said police. From their possession, two pistols were recovered, said police.
Manipur Police arrested one active member of KCP(MFL) namely Yumnam Suresh Meitei alias Poirei Mangang, 28, from Porompat Ayangpalli Raod near Old Modern College Gate under Porompat police station, Imphal-East district.
He was involved in extortion of money from general public, private firms, government officials, said police.
Ten No. 36 hand grenades, 10 tubes launchings, one two-wheeler, one green iron ammunitions box, three mobile phones, one wallet, and one blue sack bag were recovered from their possession.
Security forces also arrested one individual from Thingkangphai, Churachandpur district. He was identified as Thangsuanmuan. From his possession, 132 soap cases of No. 4 Heroin (1.518 Kgs without soap cases), one mobile phone, and one four-wheeler were recovered, said police.
