Imphal: A five-day North East Dance and Music Festival organized by the Rhythms of Manipur, Imphal with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, entered its third day on Monday.

The festival was being held at Manipuri Jagoi Marup Golden Jubilee Stage, here.

The festival which will continue till March 28 was inaugurated by  Budha Chingtham, member Board of Governor’s EZCC Kolkata. Ranjit Adhikari, former principal Government Dance College presided over the inaugural ceremony.

Sattriya Dance performance by Usha Rani Baishya from Assam and Langden Drum performance were the highlights of the first day.

Kartal Cholom by Hari Nata Sankirtana Academy, Pena Eshei by Yeningkol Seidam Shang were performed on the second day.

Manipuri folk dance presented by artistes of the Lianda Folk and Classical Academy and Dhol Dholok cholom by Guru Kulla Cultural Academy will be the highlights of the third day of the festival.

On the fouth day of the festival the Rhythms of Manipur wil present fusion music performance while Guru Rewben Mashangva will perform folk music numbers.

It may noted here that the Rhythms of Manipur had earlier also successfully organised workshops, festivals, lecturer demonstration for the last two decades.
