Imphal: Nongmeibung Chakpram Leirak Development Committee (NCLDC) observed its 7th foundation day at Multi Utility Park, Nongmeibung Chakpram Leikai, here on Tuesday.
In connection with the observance two oldest living persons of Nongmeibung Chakpram Leirak were also honoured and felicitated during the event.
The two elderly were Keisham Nganbi (99) and Wahengbam Budhachandra (89).
The new extensions of the park was also inaugurated.
NCLDC secretary Moirangthem Nishikanta highlighted that the two elders were honoured in connection with the foundation day observance.
“It is an intrinsic part of our culture to revere and respect elders for their contributions to the society,” he said.
He said NCLDC would celebrate the remaining birthdays of Keisham Nganbi (99) starting this year.
Chairman of the committee Rupachandra and president of Eastern Students’ Club Nongmeibung Nongthombam Indrajit and other respected figures of the locality took part in the meeting cum foundation day observance.
