Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Sunday submitted his resignation to governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, here.
The chief minister was accompanied by some ministers, MLAs and BJP state president to submit the resignation to the governor.
The governor accepted the resignation of the chief minister along with council of ministers and asked him to continue in office till alternative arrangements are made, said a statement by the governor’s secretariat.
The resignation letter was submitted after the chief minister visited Delhi.
This development came amid the murmur of No Confidence Motion to be pressed by the Congress.
There has been conflict in the BJP over changing in the leadership of the Manipur government.
Manipur Legislative Assembly was scheduled to commence on February 10.
