Imphal: Seven Qwan Ki-do players of Manipur have been selected in the Indian team to take part in the 2nd World Championship Qwan Ki-do for Children and Youths of Club -2025 to be held at Lodi of Italy.
Those selected for the Indian squad were as in pictures (1) Thokchom Yaiphaba, (2) Khundungbam Yailen, (3)Tekcham Ojitkumar, (4) Thokchom Yohenba, (5) Ningthoujam Sinivash Singh, (6) Chanam Sunderlal Singh and (7) Wahengbam Nazily.
Qwan KI-Do Association Manipur expressed its happiness in the selection of seven Manipuris to contest in the international platform. It also wished them for their success.
Qwan Ki-Do is a Vietnamese martial art that was codified in France in 1981. It is practiced internationally, with schools in Asia and Europe. The practice combines the use of hand-to-hand techniques and weapons, with moves combined in both formalised combinations, termed Thao Quyen, and freeform settings. It includes stances, punches, kicks, throws, holds and many other techniques.
